I haven't been out to Texoma in quite some time, she welcomed me back with an awesome Personal Best Striped Bass. This beauty weighed in at 18 pounds and was 34" long. I had a real good time fishing with Lee, Robert, Mike, and Chris. The fishing was a bit of a challenge but the weather and camaraderie couldn't have been nicer. For those of you fishing the striper tournament next week, I have good news, I will not be fishing the tournament I wish all participants the best of luck Also thank you to Henry for inviting me over to his place to process my first ever Gyotaku Fish Print. How do you think they came out? Which should I frame? Does anyone know how to write in some special text that may accent the piece? I am thinking of adding measurements, dates, and location so I can cherish this keepsake for many years to come. Please PM me if you could help me out with this or suggest someone that could. Thanks, Adrian

Thanks guys for the kudos, I really appreciate it. Turns out I measured her from the mouth to the shortest point on her tail when I should have measured to the furthest point on her tail. This fish is nearly a KW record for freshwater striper.
Here is a follow up for some of the inquiries. She fought hard, too hard. I was getting pulled around for what seemed like 10 minutes but it was probably only 5-8 min. I did have to bring her home since after I finally got her in she was so stressed out she went belly up immediately. She will have to be released to the grease. I also caught a 25" fish for the grease so it's almost time for a fish fry. The Gyotaku is a very simple process but makes an awesome keepsake. All we did was dry her up really good, pin her fins back, apply screen printing ink by speed ball to one side of her then lay down rice paper to follow her curves. They didn't come out great but not bad for my first try

I am going to bite my tongue on all the specific details( bc of the tourney next week end) but will share the fact that my order that Joe, aka Axeman with Reaxtion Lures so nicely delivered to the ramp had the golden ticket. You guys that plan to fish the tournament or just want to catch some nice striper should really reach out to Joe so he can get you fixed up right with very high quality tackle at very affordable prices. Joe is an awesome guy to deal with and believe me his baits won't disappoint.

I should have given you a little ink so you can add the stripes..

Adrian, that fish is a MONSTER! Congrats on the catch and the PB! If you could find someone to do calligraphy, I would think a little card down on the bottom with the catch info would be great - I'm suggesting a card just so you don't potentially ruin the print and can experiment with card and print size, etc. I bet you have someone at work or a customer who can do this. I think either one framed would be great.......or try adding the lines/other detail on one and see how it looks. Kudos to HankS for helping out......he is definitely getting that process down - going to have to start referring to him as Master Henry-san. Again, what a rockin' catch - congrats!
