I peddled the new PA17 and outback. The Pa is awesome I peddled it by myself and with someone and I must say it actually peddled fairly well with one person and the stability and room is insane. I don't know how it handles out of the water but it was nice on the water and would be great if you were a striper or hybrid fisherman.
The outback was nice as well and the new seat is much better that the old one but does take I little getting use to. It is slightly difficult to adjust on the water I thought but I think with a little time in the seat you could get it down more efficiently. As far as the new mirage drive it did seem slightly easier but was a little hard to tell exactly how much easier it was. Maybe if you could do a side by side comparison with the same yak you might could tell the difference better.
All in all I like the things that hobie has done and I think all hobie fans are going to enjoy the new features and mirage drive.

I compared the slayer13 and outback yesterday and i can tell you some pros and cons on both. The slayer has the ability to go in reverse, super easy to stand up in and has plenty of room for storage. The biggest con I noticed with the slayer was that it had a poor turning radius and the drive cannot be operated in shallow water.
The outback has the new mirage drive and can be flutter kicked in shallow water, has a seat that is more adjustable, and you can stand up in it as well but I think the slayer is a better standing platform. It can also be fitted with the sailing rudder which makes it super maneuverable. A con on the outback is no reverse.
After demoing both I can't decide which one I liked best I think that they are that close in comparison. I do think that the mirage drive is easier to use but I also have had a pro angler for the past 2 years.

Yesterday was a ton of fun. We had over 80 people come out. I got to try the new 2015 Outback and Hobie has fixed the only three complaints I've had regarding that boat over the last 1.5 years - the seat, flattening out the deck in front of the seat, and making the cupholders drain out. At this point I can't think of anything I'd improve on it. I'll be upgrading for sure.
Had a blast helping people try out kayaks for the first time. I also placed in the Hobie Sport race and donated my prize to Heroes on the Water. All in all a fun day! Big thanks to Aris and Dave for organizing everything and putting it together!

I tried the revo 13, revo 11, outback and slayer propel all 2015 models back to back.. The propel I wanted to love because the speed control is very functional but it just didn't jive with me on the water. Something that happened to me that I hadn't heard about... the propel wasn't locked down and while trying to pedal quickly the drive jumped just an inch or two, my foot slid and hit my ankle on the drive. It freaking hurt with sandals on... Not a huge deal, just something that happened to me. And it was the native rep who said he never locked down the drive so if you hit something there is a little give... I felt 100% comfortable standing in it and it's huge but again just didn't feel right for me.
The hobie seats are awesome.. The outback I felt comfortable standing in within minutes but fell in love with the speed and ride of the revo 13 and put money down on it immediately and got to pick it up last Friday.. Already got turbo fins on it and love getting a workout cruising around the lake. It feels like a sports car. This week I should have my side imaging setup and get some fishing in!
