Interesting post. I like number 8: Content, content, content. I don't do so well on some of your other steps.

Content is the hardest one. You have to keep writing. Even on vacation. Even when you don't feel like it.

A few thoughts:

New bloggers should really do as much SEO research as possible (search engine optimization). Google will rank your website based on a list of factors, and every blogger should know and understand these factors. It's actually a fascinating topic.

Furthermore, learn how to be a pro with your links. Links are a very important part of SEO and should be understood completely. Don't be shy with your links either. Link to your fellow bloggers and give them some love when they do something noteworthy.
