Anyone know of good ponds around the area that have a good amount of lilies? I'm wanting to try my new Pad Crasher in the best environment possible

Oh hey if you're still looking for something maybe closer, Exall Lake in Highland Park has a TON of them and it's very easy to park and go right to the water and get started. I think a lot of families fish there, it was really busy the one morning I went. The following is a link to a Google Map, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Just type in Exall Lake and it should come up if my attempt fails - hope you enjoy!

Fishing from bank or boat will help with your answers. South Lake in Farmersville is amazing for smaller boats, kayaks, float tubes, but nigh unfishable from the shore, for example. That said, don't limit yourself to only using it around pads either! My favorite place for topwater blow ups is probably along emergent logs/sticks etc. the type of stuff turtles and snakes would sunbathe on. I like to have something to swim a topwater over to, up onto the edge of, and hop over/off of. Draw their attention, let them stare at it, bring it back into the water and BOOM!

That attitude may have changed over the years, but I doubt it.

Yeah I've heard that too but I had my valid license in my pocket and would've been happy to remind them that messing with State authority really doesn't go very far in the long run, just let me fish and I'll leave when I'm ready. Never needed to deal with them though. Can't let fake rules push people around, just my opinion.
