I was a pretty die hard chevy buyer. We owned 1993-2006 in 4 different vehicles for a number of years. I am not a gm only gun now. I bought a diesel and it was a 6 speed manual with a the cummins. Bought a ford escape earlier this year. My next vehicle will either be a Ram 1500, Chevy Colorado or a ford 2.7 ecoboost. Or if I go the older truck and keep a car wrought I will have a diesel jetta and likely an older chevy 2500 6.0.

While my GM's have served me well I will shop around for the vehicle that does what I need best and right now GM doesn't make too many of them... depending on how the d-max Colorado works out.

I pretty much was a Chevy man until about 07 08. The recent debacle that they are going through and the lack of ethics has caused me to be 100% Ford. I don't think I could ever go back to chevy considering some of the dirt I have heard about the executives within the company, and the excuses they tried to use to not pay out to the families of the deceased caused by some of the recent quality/safety issues.

Once I read about the fact that they tried to use their bankruptcy declaration to get out of paying those families of the deceased...I closed them out of my options.

Man up. Fight the GOOD fight.

No offense, but if you think the same kind of corruption isn't going on at all the other manufacturers then ive got some ocean front property in Arizona id like to sell ya.

And bankruptcy is bankruptcy it should have gotten them out of paying by definition.

This is about GM. Not other manufacturers. http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/11/news/companies/gm-recall-deaths/
"Chrysler and GM both initially proposed shedding liabilities on all vehicles sold before their bankruptcies, even if the accidents occurred after the bankruptcy. Under pressure from Congress, state attorneys generals and public interest groups, both accepted liability for accidents that occurred after the bankruptcy."

The ethics behind what they tried to do was disgusting...bankruptcy or not. Just because it "is" doesn't mean it's right. Chevy committed a wrong, tried to blatantly cover it up...boasted about pretty big profit gains before the wrong was revealed, shoot they even claimed they pretty much paid the gov't back for the loans...then, after all this boasting about gains and profit, when the wrong was revealed, they fell back and said we won't pay...like they couldn't afford it... because they declared bankruptcy. Multiple judges, attorney generals, and the public (who knew what they were trying to do) didn't see it that way. I don't either.

Diehard Ford owner for 30 years until I bought a 2001 Supecrew 4x4 with a 5.4. I still own a 2004 Sporttrac and a 2002 Mercury Marquis but doubt I will ever buy another new Ford.

75 camaro, 95 Grand prix,82 Volkswagen Rabbit, 92 Camaro(old cop car), 04(heritage) f150, 06 Fusion(still own) and 01 Sentra(still own).

I work at a Ford dealership but im not 100% loyal to ford. I like older Chevy's and a few select Ford vehicles. I agree with red Chevy. i buy based on need and not brand.

I've been a Chevy guy for a long time when it comes to trucks. Right now, I own a Duramax for real work, a Nissan Altima for commuting and my wife drives a Honda CR-V.

Im a die hard chevy guy. I have owned just about every make(including ford). I do have a 2000 frontier that i bought that was a year old w/ 22k miles on it. been the best car i have ever owned. never breaks down, all we do is put gas in it and change the oil. now it has 170k and still runs as good as it did when we got it.still has the original clutch, rear brakes and other stuff. pretty sure im on my 3rd set of tires. not big on power or speed, but ac is always ice cold and i have never even checked it! hows that?oh did i say ive wrecked it twice?? nothing a couple of bumper brackets wouldnt fix!! thye best chevy i had was a 2000 silvero 2500. it had 317k and i paid $200 for it. cust said motor was blown, even tho i told him it was something else. haha a new flywheel, rear main seal and oil change and drove it home. now this truck has 370k and still runs pretty damn good. i actually sold to Christian ,cuz he said when i brought it home that it would be his someday! still love that truck. the motor has never been opened up. trans went out at 325k!
