Ok guys Im calling on you for some help. Im going to try and keep this short. For those that know me I dont have the bass ring that most of you do. I call it the Frankenstein boat but its actually a PondKing Pro made by pondking right over by you guys in Gainesville, TX. I bought it from a former dealer and she and I have become friends. As I started to add things she mentioning that I need to show the President of PondKing what I was doing. After I thought about it I was like why not..maybe I could get some assistance with some upgrades. Mostly I was trying (still am) to get a 15 hp outboard. I sent him an email but didnt even get a return. I know what youre thinkingwhy would he want to buy or contribute to you getting an outboard. I was thinking and saying the same to my friend who sold me the boat. So heres why my thinking has changed.
When I first started going out I would get the occasional question about where did you get that? or thats different I would stop and chat here and there. But now its a lot. I havent got out like I wanted to this year but man just about every time I go out I get stopped and have to talk to someone about the boat where I got it and how it fishes. Ive even had several people ask me to pull over so they could see it. Now dont get me wrong I KNOW I dont have a bass boat.its not a Ranger, Skeeter,Nitro not even close and I know this..it is what it is and what I fish on. But why my thinking is changing is I now realize that Im doing a ton of advertising for pond king! Not only from the anglers coming up while fishing or driving but also from YouTube. There is a dealer here but they dont even have a pondking you can look at. I know of two guys who said they had ordered one.dont know the just said that in an email. While yes my reason for me wanting an outboard is for me personally. I feel it would show off the PondKing even more. Pondking would have a guy over here with a boat someone could see. I dont have every bell and whistle on her but I do have two graphs two on board chargers a bow mount with a recessed foot control and a few other things. Just more than what it came with. But what Im thinking is not only can I show someone the boat even take them out.but also show them some upgrades that you can do to make the boat more fishable. Heck Ive even started writing down some ideas and points that would truly make the pond king a better fishing boat. But an outboard on it would just top it off. It would show the boat can go out on some of the larger lakes and take my fishing to the next level. I want PondKing to even be able to look to me to test out new ideas or products for the boat. Im no pro but I am a bass fishing addict!!! I was going to take PondKings name off and put my website up lol. I just really feel like I am helping them and could really help more. I dont want to be a dealer .just really trying to get an outboard! So Im asking you guys for helpemails phone calls anything to PondKing to maybe get them thinking hmmmm maybe we could use this guy!! Im open to any suggestions or ideas you guys have. The office administrator is Amy Sparks. The Sales & marketing coordinator is Jill Roush. PondKings website is PondKing Website If you want to see my boat and some of the changes it's here my boat oh and my name is Shawn Walker (919-593-5234) thanks again

Shawn,

I fish from a twin troller x10. There is a guy who has done what you are wanting to do with that boat. Go to YouTube or google and type in twin troller x10. His videos are all over the place. If you were to do something similar for PondKing you might have similar results.

Make some videos focusing on the boat rather than your catches. Show the versatility of the boat and it's value. Focus on getting people to want the boat rather than to fish like you do.

I applaud your enthusiasm, and its clear you are a very creative and bright person. Those types make great fishermen. I think you should indeed move up to the next level, which is to find a likeminded partner who has a bass boat (doesn't have to be top of the line or new) and win some tourneys. Then people will start taking you serious and pond king would become a distant memory. Just my two cents, and for the record, I hope they do come through for you though!

Keep working it, your video's success and the fact that you are now highlighting the boat is good for there business. I have to admit I went to there web site as soon as I saw that you were in a Pond King. I am now very interested in the PK Duck Buster!

Dunno if it will help you out but I forwarded the info on. If anyone talks carp about your boat oh well. The boat isn't what catches the fish and you have proven that.

I wouldn;t think it would have to go all the way to their CEO to get what you want. Unless they're just a small company, other people should have that kind of power to make those decisions. It sounds like a no-brainer to me. All the advertising you've done for them even on here alone has been a lot. Especially when you're out east where they might not have broke into that market fully, you have been getting their name out there.

I would just call in and work up the chain until you find someone who can make the decision. Good luck!

Your boat is great. The deck is huge. Your videos on reel maintenance and tuning are the best on youtube. Of course, I have watched every offshore cranking video. You are well spoken and provide good insight. Maybe after the crankbait videos, add some footage at home (out of the wind), explaining the keys to your success that day (water clarity, wind, water temp, baitfish depth, etc ) with a close up picture of the lure. Explain what type of line/knot/retrieve type you were using.

My best advice would be to network with flukemaster (youtube handle). He is in Georgia and I believe he has the most followers/subscribers of any independent youtube fishing channel. He could share lots of knowledge with you.

I am not trained in marketing, and find some aspects of marketing unsavory; but, I would maximize your internet presence. Provide lots of information about you and your boat on the youtube, facebook, and google+ accounts. Basically, let your story be known.

You are highly skilled in reel tuning/repair and an expert on cranking. These two niches are very marketable. Consider changing your facebook, google+, youtube accounts to all the same name to avoid brand confusion--I like CrankBait1007

Also, you are really good at answering youtube questions/comments and posting your answer/reply quickly (even if it's an obvious or rookie question or comment from me) . Keep doing that. thumb

You catch way bigger, and more fish than a lot of guys I know that have 60k boats. I dig your rig dude. When I see your videos and see the utility of the boat it actually makes me want one.
