I had a great conversation with Humminbird and there is a new 5" standalone unit series coming out at the end of the year called Helix 5 units. They are set for Mid December and Early January Release dates.

i like this one to have it just for mapping and then u could run a 999ci with the big sonar screen on the console

So if a person bought 1 of the HUMM HELIX's and you move your 898ci to the console then where would you put the transducer for the Helix due to my transducer is on my jackplate? Thanks.

Which one of the Helix 5 units????

There is no GPS-only model.

All of them are at least sonar units. All of them would use 200 khz for 2D sonar.
As with any two sonar units using the same frequency, no matter what the model or brand, if the sonar pulses overlap, they will cross-talk. Having two transducers on the transom would be a sure thing. At opposite ends of the boat, it would be less likely in shallow water/soft bottom.
