is it just the heat? I have 2 badazz yaks and haven't been out in 2 months. The scary part is that it doesn't bother me that much so am I one of those guys? I haven't posted any piks of outings or espoused about the newest thing I bought or did to the yaks. I can see the buzzards circling the classifieds just waiting for the like new fully outfitted WS Ride115x's for sale.Maybe its just the heat.

The heat is a killer right now. I go early and late when it gets this hot.

Funny, here I am watching a fishing show and checking the weather, trying to talk myself into loading up the yak and heading to the lake on this day off, but I just can't do it. Been fighting that same feeling, wondering what's wrong with me, why am I not going out when I can. But when I think about it, I seem to always get this lull about this time of year, which is probably good, since dove season is next week, and the weather will be getting great over the next couple of months, with trips to the coast and Texoma all in the plans!

So, no worries, we'll all be out there again soon.

August is tough for sure, I haven't been out in a few weeks but thats mostly been due to schedule. Cooler temps are coming and I am definitely looking forward to that.

It's not a sprint; it's a marathon, which allows for lulls in your fishing routine. Unless you need the money or the space in your garage, I would hang on to them and as the weather get cooler you may find yourself wanting to get back out on the water and wet some hooks.

How much you asking for it?

I agree that the Texas summer heat can be a total beating. However, in September 2011, after almost 6-months of no rain and God only knows, how many consecutive triple-digit days we'd had, IT happened!.....My best fishing buddy catches his PB at 5:30 am on a T-rigged brush hog, a 10-13 LMB at Lake Alvarado!

Then a year later (August 2012), me and the same fishing buddy are luck enough to find ourselves on Amistad. It's about 103-degrees at 4:30pm and I'm just about ready to call it quits. Then I feel a strong tug on my weightless Senko. BAM! My PB, a 9-12 LMB!

My point is, Texas summers are tough to deal with, but sometimes it pays off to fight it out!

I have been the same way lately. I havent been to Cooper in a month and I normally go every weekend. I did hit Purtis creek last Sunday for a few hours. I am ready for some cooler weather.

May need new goals. Say a new Personal Best in your favorite species or may be even a new species.
Might try some new ways to fish or some new waters.

...or take up golf. Then you can contemplate selling your clubs while you fish.

I haven't fished in three or four weeks and it might be longest dry spell I've gone without in 20 years. Almost went last weekend but decided to play golf for the first time in years instead. Thought it would be easier and more enjoyable...verdict still out on that one, will see what this weekend brings. August heat and no wind makes everything less enjoyable.

I normally don't get to excited about fishing this time of year, but wow has the bass fishing been great this year. I'm loading my gear and headed to Fork as I'm typing this. A big ice chest Gatorade and water a big hat and your good to go.
