Insert a 1/32 or 1/16 oz split shot into the hollow body of the frog and shake it to the rear near the hook. This gives 3 advantages... makes casting much easier, causes the bait to sit tail low when stopped (just like a live frog), and makes walking the dog much easier.

Is a good idea, I started using the ribbit top toad, hollow body, added rattles and worked great to. Will try your idea, thanks

I watch these guys on TV walking frogs and never could get it to work well. Will try this. I knew that a little weight on the back hook of a walking bait sometimes helps a lot, but why didn't I try it with a frog...?

I use the Scum Frog brand....the frogs without legs (have a skirt hanging out instead)have a weight at the back....this probably gives the same effect I'm guessing!
Great idea....always nice when you see ideas like this.

We used to do this quite a bit on the delta. Also adding plastic beads or jig rattles inside the body adds a little extra notice.

I've used this before on matts. It makes it sit down on mats better. With no wieght it sits high and with a little weight the fish can see it better because it sits lower.
Thanks,
