Can you guys give me some feedback on the quality of fishing? I have heard good things about this lake but don't know if all that changed with the extremely low water. I am planning a camping trip in about two weeks with my two boys and want to know if it's worth it to go there for couple of nights.

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Hey Newbie I sent you a PM. The Striper fishing on Buchanan was hurt bad by the 2011 drought. We had a big fish die off and it has taken awhile for the fish to recover. This past weekend I had 2 DD fish with the biggest going 12 and three others close. Another guide had a 15 on Sat and Friday Jackie had a 14+. A few weeks ago I had one pushing 14. Buchanan stripers are making coming back and if we can get past August without the water temps soaring next year will be awesome!!! We should see some bust 20lbs. Also the Hybrids are really picking up steam. There are some very nice hybrids in the 5-6lbs range being caught with a few in the 7lb range. Max had one a while back pushing 9. So overall Buchanan is coming around. I think it took a few years for the fish to recover from the 2011 drought and record water temps and for them to acclamate to the new levels.
