If you were going to Fork this weekend, how would you plan your day? In other words, start with topwater early, move to points, structure etc.
I'm thinking about going for the 1st time in a couple of years, if I get the kids sports pass, and just looking for you thoughts on methods, not locations.

Does it make sense to start on top or weightless around grass early and then move out deep or just start deep?

Does it make sense to start on top or weightless around grass early and then move out deep or just start deep? I think it does. You'll almost always get some early morning activity in the shallows this time of year. If/when the shallow bite dies down you can migrate out onto deep spots.

topwater from 5:30 till around 9, find grass and shallow structure 9-12 and then deep points, rock piles and roadbeds during the hottest part of the day. Deep bite has been best so far.

The shallow grass beds has not been productive the last 2 weeks, IMHO. Start deep, stay deep and especially work the wood.

Fork is its own monster, its not as easy to catch fish as people think. These bass have seen every lure ever made---twice. if you havent fished it in awhile, dont carry high expectations for the bass... But if you do, i would say topwater VERY early, then go to plastic or cranking..

Fished Wednesday thru this morning, what worked for us Wednesday was dropshot in about 25', Thursday early morning bite was good on squarebill in 2-10', then dropshot again, this morning couldnt find a fish, we caught several in the 2-5# range, so we felt fairly happy bout that considering the reports, I think you can catch some fish early shallow then go deep, good luck and we was just fun fishing
