 Canyon Lake Crappie Opportunities

Just purchased a property in the Lake Shores/Mystic Shores area and looking for areas close to snag some crappies. Looks like I will be using Potter Creek to launch. Not really familiar enough to try nighttime yet unless its on the docks at Potter or Mystic. How is the fishing at the docks?

Welcome to Canyon Lake. I use the same ramp to launch. I would suggest heading to the mouth of the river and upriver for crappie. There is a lot of flooded timber upriver and especially at the first bend in the river. Also you can hit the marinas as there is always fish in the marinas especially Cranes mill marina.

Btw Texasboomer I fish at night quite often. Got a little johnboat with green led lights on it. The night bite is better than the day bite for crappie on this lake.
