Went fishing with a couple of buddies the other day and one buddy of mine had a Mariner and he let me take it for a spin. WRONG IDEA! Now I want one bad! Real bad! I was watching him fish out of it and he made it look so easy staying on point and also the wind didn't hardly effect him at all. I was looking at some Native Slayer Propel 13 videos and I am convinced that will be my next kayak. I want to test peddle one but I'm afraid to, if you know what I mean! For those that have the Slayer Propel what are the things you would change about the yak? Also what did you have to mod on your yak to make it work better for you?

Here you go this might help: SLAYER PROPEL RIGGING I just got mine a month ago and VERY happy with it. This kayak is better then I thought it would be. Give me a call if you want to go fishing.

You can demo mine any time you want. I just put an anchor trolley, my electronics, and a power pole unit on mine and love it.

I demo'd one back in spring and they are very nice, only thing I didn't like was the weight and price.

I demo'd one back in spring and they are very nice, only thing I didn't like was the weight and price. Yea they aren't the same as the weight as of a paddle kayak. Well unless you remove the drive. I think the total hull weight is 85lbs. Not to far off from other paddle kayaks, but not the lightest kayak either. I think the price is comparable to other pedal kayaks, but for someone not needing peddle drive as a option it wouldn't matter. What drew me to it is it paddles as great as it pedals. Well that and it has reverse too!

Thanks for the replies. And thanks for the demo offers as well!! I definatly want to get out with some of you guys and do a little fishing, more catching than fishing really! LOL The only real concern of mine is I had heard that a few guys had mentioned that under the track where the seat slides on to the rear can sometimes bow out some, probably due to the weight of the person in the chair. Is this an issue on this yak? Also I watched your video on youtube Shaun and you mentioned there were a few items that you wanted to mod on your yak. Do you mind me asking what they were?

I had the seat thing happen a couple times and I realized it was my fault. When you install the seat make sure you thread the front screws in correctly and tight. I was getting in a hurry and not securing it properly. Now that I know what causes it I take the extra 10 seconds to thread the screws properly and it has never happened again.
