Last spring, someone asked about where to get small painted tungsten bullet weights to fish on flukes or senkos (like 1/32 green pumpkin) as an alternative to a split shot rig. Someone posted a site, I bought some, now am running out and cannot remember which site I bought them from. Any ideas?

I did a bunch of research on tungsten this weekend. I couldn't find 1/32 other than direct from China. I did find two of those sources though if you are interested.

When you are talking about weights that small though, I think it is better to just use a tungsten bead. Especially if you are looking to replace a split shot. A 4.6mm tungsten bead is approx. 1/32 oz. You can find them pretty cheap on many fly tying supplier websites or ebay in a wide variety of colors.

Picasso also makes a 1/32 oz painted pro-metal bullet sinker if you want to keep that style.

Tru tungsten use to sell them. I bought a bunch off TW back then. Haven't seen them since they folded.

I know you asked for tungsten but Bullet Weights has 1/32 lead weights that are easy to find if you don't find tungsten. i've been using them with a bobber stopper to split shot for years. 1/32 is so light and small i really can't feel the difference between the lead and the 1/32 tungsten i have. in larger weights the tungsten without a doubt provide more sensitivity.

I got home and searched and found the Picasso Pro Metal worm weights, its a hardened lead that on something that small probably wont matter. Not the ones I bought last year as I know they were Tungsten. Tungsten beads is a pretty good idea too and cheaper, as these are $3 for qty 5

I ordered from Anglerswarehouse, recommend staying away from these guys. They charged my credit card before anything shipped (which breaks Texas fair trade laws), and never notified me that these weights were backordered. I called and complained and they said they had a flood, computer system crash and it would be a couple of weeks before I get my credit. Not going to hold my breath. Just a heads up to stay clear of this site

Tru Tungsten went out of business. That is the brand I bought as companies were closing out all their inventory of them.
