a buddie bought a 2014 skeeter in Oct last year and saw spider cracks pop up on the top cap of his boat this past weekend. He has not hit anything but is curious what (if any) leg he has to stand on. He loves his boat but didn't know if this is a warranty issue or tough luck? Any ideas on how to handle would be appreciated...He is not a TFF'er but i told him i would pass along!! Thanks for any input....

He should call dealership he bought it from our take it to closest Skeeter Dealer. Could be from impact at high speeds hitting waves...

Rockie thanks for chiming in...His question is since the boat is 8 months old is it a warranty issue regardless? he has not hit anything. Like most new boat owners he spit shines this boat after every use. Boat has not touched a thing but the water, the trailer and a car wash.

I would definitely have the dealer check it out. It should be under warranty with the boat being 8 months old... Sounds like stress cracks.

It happened to me don't mess with the dealer they will gust make it worse believe me, call skeeter take it to them. Rough water an lack of bracing did that, that is what they told me.

I don't believe any boat manufacturer warranties stress cracks. I bet every one of them uses it as a line item exclusion in their warranty. Read item no. 2 in the section "specific exclusions from warranty". I believe every boat company will use that same verbage. http://www.skeeterboats.com/my_boat/

Spider cracks are purely cosmetic, no structural damage is there.
You're kinda on your own to fix them if you can't stand em.

I will make it simple, from an ex Skeeter Owner. They CRACK. It is not uncommon and in no way hurts the performance of the boat. I've seen it on SX models to the I Class boats, never been in an FX. It is what it is. Consider it a trademark.
