Today was one of those days for the Lake Fork Premier Guide Service record books! 29 bass total and best 5 go 46 pounds!
I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve Story owner of Shoot-Em Up archery in Paris, Tx and one of his closest friends, Sam Earnest. Sam caught a 9+ over last month with us.
We after the day graphing a deep point with a roadbed close buy but I didn't see much I got to excited about so we ran to my next prospective spot and the graph instanly out up with tons of bait and fish mixed in. I knew we would catch a few with the possibility of a big girl mixed in if we where on outlet A game
I start them off throwing Carolina rigs as I expected for it to be the best bait for a big bite. So I picked up a 6xd and begin fan casting over the structure. Three or four cast in and I catch a big slot, then Sam smacks a big slot. Steve follows up two cast later with the first 9 of the day! We ended up fishing there for a few hours boating 16-18 off of it with 5 between 6.5-9 pounds.
We went out and continued graphing other deep spots with little luck other than one 6.5 of the spot I graphed first thing that morning. We headed in for a late breakfast at 10:30 at Oak Ridge.
Headed north and checked a dozen deep holes with little luck finding bass or bait. Decided to stop in one of my most favorite spots from years ago and instantly caught 2 5s and then the magic happened. Steve boats his 10.5 and 20 minutes late I catch a 9.75! Sam boats two over 5 and a 6 during the feeding frenzy.
That makes our best 5 a 10.5, 9.75, 9.00, 8.50 & 8.50 = 46 pounds!
Steve had three big ones, Sam had one and I had one in this epic bag! I wished Sam would have stuck the 9.75 but they told me if a big one bites my bait I better catch her so I did!

Man it feels great to have a day like today. I hope everyone gets to exsperiance it once in a lifetime. It gets comical after a while, oh it's just a dang 5 or 6, not even a picture taker, lol
I have been lucky enough to travel all over fishing tournaments and have had some awesome days at Falcon, Okeechobee, Kentucky lake & even Erie but to have the chance to share this with two great guys like Steve and Sam makes it even better!
We cut up all day and fished very slow and relaxed capitalizing one all but 1 or two bites.
My tip for Fork right now is to GRAPH, GRAPH, GRAPH and fish SLOW, SLOW, SLOW
