Hello! I just unpacked my fishing gear and have no clue about freshwater fishing.

I've been wade fishing in Tampa Bay for a few years... I'm no pro though!

It's just me and my gear, I'd enjoy any suggestions and company on what to use, how to rig and where in the world to go.

Thanks for allowing me to join!

That is CRAZY! LOL! Bass fishing is Awesome!
Depending on what kind of fish you want to catch you are in a great area.
Lake Lavon - I prefer for catfish, Sandbass and crappie
Lake Ray Hubbard - Black bass, catfish, Sandbass and crappie
Lake Texoma - Striper (Striped bass)
Lake Fork - Awesome - Large Mouth, crappie, catfish, sand bass and perch
Lake Ray Roberts - Black bass, sand bass...
Lake Lewisville I do not really care for. Many people love it!

If you are looking for some smaller lakes check out South Lake in Farmersville, The power plant lakes in Greenville (this also a great place to catch shad with a cast net.) These lakes you can use a trolling motor.
Most towns have city lakes you can bank fish from.
If all else fails drive to the coast.
I will stop now, I can keep going on and on.

If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.

You may need to scale down on your equipment . I work in the plano area there is a creek that runs all the way thru it that has some nice bass and sunfish . Look for Spring Creek in the plano area and Duck Creek off of Jupiter is also a lot of fun.

Consider looking into the Dallas Bass'n Gals. They can help you with fishing in the area. My favorite if you have a boat or access to one is Ray Roberts.
