Well not really new I know a little bi. But all I ever catch is catfish that salt water one..... was over at falcon state park yesterday and did some fishing all nighter and only brought in like 6 channel catfish 12 to 14 inches long not good at all it was off the shore since I don't own a boat because I see no point if I've never brought something big in..... so I tried everything to catch big mouth bass everyone says that that place is filled with them didn't bring one in even after I threw a crank bait in there.... cast and reel got my arms tired.... the only setup I know for my fishing rod is sinker in the bottom and a foot higher hook doesn't work.

I love going out and fishing but catfishes are getting me tired I need tips or just a whole manual on how to catch fish being bass, trout, red fish, and anything else..... I'm from south Texas weslaco area and I would love to learn to fish the good stuff to be able to pass it over to my son.... thanks in advance

I would recommend fishing ponds to start with. ponds are smaller so your chances of catching fish increase. build up confidence, bass fishing is a mental game. throw what people call "reaction baits" to start with, it takes very little experience to have success with these baits, reaction baits would be baits such as crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwaters. choose colors that match what the bass are feeding on. for an example: if I were fishing a pond I would lean more towards bluegill patterns while lake fishing I would lean more towards a shad pattern. send me a message if you have any questions.

^^This. Ponds and small bodies of water are the best places to learn to catch bass and build confidence/knowledge, especially this time year...the topwater action on ponds during low light hours of the summer are exciting. Stick with basics regarding baits...topwaters (Pop Rs, buzzbaits, frogs) & spinnerbaits. A Texas rig 6"-7" worm, though requiring a bit more technique and "feel", will catch you a ton of summertime pond bass. Good luck and welcome to the crazy addiction!

Make up some Carolina rigs, 1oz weight 3ft leader Texas rig your Crawdad, worm fluke.
Throw it as far out as you can, drag it back to your side like a backward baseball swing.
You will catch Bass.
Fun Fun !
