trolling motor issues

i was wanting to know if anyone could recommend any trolling motor repair shops local to the dallas area.. my motor just quit funtioning correctly the other night while i was fishing a thursday night tourney..it will spin but when i push my pedal to turn it stops spinnin.. im guessing its some sort of short or loose connection, but im not in any way certain.. thanks in advance for any recommendations.. it is a minnkota but i didnt buy it brand new.. can i send it directly to the manufacturer or no?

I would try Tim Harrell at SW parts or All Star, both are in Dallas.
