Clogged tuner exaust???

Still having issues with my 97 mariner 225 hp I Pulled my lower unit and I don't know what to look for. Is this clogged??

It's hard to see in the pic, but you should be able to see 6 or 7, 3/8" holes up there. I'm about to pull mine and re-drill them out. The Powerhead has to be removed to get to all of them. You'll definitely want a powerhead gasket, adapter plate gasket, possibly the lower seal for the tuner. This is a good time to check your swivel bracket bushings and upper motor mounts. The swivel bracket bushings probably need to be overhauled; bushings, o-rings, thrust washer, spacer and retaking clip. Also very wise to replace the bushing that goes in the adapter plate (for the shift shaft)- it's inexpensive, and is very easy to replace while the powerhead is off. Spend a little now and it'll last a long time! This is a good time to check the reeds too. If they're steel, replace them with carbon fiber reeds and lap them for proper fitment.
