 Navionics + vs Platinum?

Kind of a moot point as I already have a Navionics + chip on the way (found a killer deal) but was wondering if anyone knew if the charts you can download to it are the same as the Platinum or are they the basic Hotmaps?
My HDS came with the insight USA built in but I'm not too thrilled with that mapping hoping this chip will be an improvement.

No the Nav+ mapping and the Platinum mapping are the same, as they both will have the sonar "FishNChips" layer that can be turned on. If you look at the webapp on the website http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp that will show you the mapping you are getting with either the Nav+ or the Platinum. The only real things you lose from the Platinum to the Nav+ will be 3D and satellite overlay, as those features are not on the Nav+ chip. If you have any question on how to setup the Nav+ or how to turn the FishNChips layer on just let me know.

Awesome I just checked a spot I fished the other day and it's way more detailed than the Insight.

How do i get 3D to show up on my graph 1198? Just got a platinum yesterday would not show 3D thanks
