LEft out of highport about 5 in the afternoon and headed to wishita flats. Marked a few scattered fish in the 30' depth range but nothing to stop for. DId a little scouting around rock creek and after not seeing much over there either i started working my way back west. I wound up fishing a few scattered spots around preston point but not a bite, i casted a 5' chartreuse sassy, a 4' glow sassy, an alabama rig, road runner jighead with curly tail, could not get a bite. Saw lots of scattered small 3-5 fish schools but nothign that would bite an artificial. After a while i moved on west and ended up fishing around the islands until dark. Finally got into some action around 8pm after marking large schools of fish between north and wood island in the 5-30' range. Caught a few on slabs, just ripping them back to the boat as fast as i could. Threw on a pencil popper and got some nice topwater action until dark. Overall it was a good day i learned a lot and was a beautiful day to be on the water.
