Turned out to be pretty much a bust. The wife managed to hook two rays, one rat red and a catfish or two. Me? Just two catfish mad

Playing the waiting game...

Hard pulling cat

Harder pulling ray

After loading up I got a txt from a friend for us to meet him at Pleasure Island and he'd show us how it's done. While Sabine Lake was way to rough for the yaks we had a good time catching several hard pulling reds, trout, croaker and sheepshead.

Hidden in the rocks was some kind of rodent (nutria rat maybe) that would dart out and grab your fish and try and drag it back into the rocks. That in itself was very entertaining on the slippery rocks.

Even though the trip didn't go as planed we still had a good time and a bunch of laughs. Maybe next time. cheers

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Nutria are herbivores. How big were these "rodents"?

Hey BKT I fish that area all the time they are minks, not nutria,I thought that to at first. One scared the hell out of me one day when it came out the rocks. Then I saw a few more.
