I've really been trying to force myself to throw the a-rig a lot lately and haven't had a lot of success with it. I've been using the basstrix 6" hollow bellies but was thinking about downsizing to better match the smaller summertime shad, as opposed to the larger winter season shad. For those who have had good results, what kind and size of swimbaits do you like to fish on the a-rig? I know a lot of guys say hollow bellies are the way to go, while some prefer baits like swimming flukes and caffeine shad. I've also heard a lot of big bait vs small bait opinions regarding the size of baits to use on the rig. Who has had some success that can give me a little guidance?

I had some berkely swimming minnows and the bass tore them to pieces, I would love to find those again but haven't been able to find the ones like I had, I have thrown some with jig heads and curly tails with limited success. Throwing the yum swim baits now and they are not producing so I am looking myself for something that works better. Never thought about rigging flukes but sounds like its worth a shot

Try using skinny dippers in 3.5". I think they are made by Big Bite and they are at Academy. They work great all year and look great.

I have been using the Zoom swimming fluke Jr on a 3/16 Yum money head with the Yum flash mob rig. It works.

swimming fluke by zoom are great baits, the cane thumpers are good to. But my favorite is the Kicker fish swimbaits. 3.5inch cant recall the name of swimbait but i get them from Anglers Pro Tackle or Fun N Sun 5$ for 6 i think. Also try rigging them on small weighted owner screw lock hooks to make it more weedless
