After fishing Monti for 30 years on the day after thanksgiving we went to Welsh this year. Water temps were mid 70’s at discharge, to shallow end, mid 60’s at dam.
Caught most of our fish in mid lake area, dead sticking a split shot senko was best for the entire day but we had random blow ups on buzzbaits and frogs on windy banks, and it was windy and rainy for half the day.
r those who have the "look at what I got..." mindset.
About the only impractical thing like that I ever wanted became a NFA Class III item several years ago was the 'Striker' and/or 'street sweeper'. They were a 12 or maybe 15 round 12 guage shotgun revolver that looked sort of like a big giant pistol.
Another weekend, another round of heavy rain and flooding here in Houston.
The good thing is it gives me some time to stock up the trout box with nymphs. I'm finally getting better at tying up these pesky copper johns which have presented a problem with achieving consistency.
Still a little bump in the thorax from the tie in point of the wire, but I'm much happier with my proportions and overall look.
I have been slammed recently, so this is a belated thank you to Mitt for the great flies. I'm really excited to try them out, squirmy worms have been killers on the Guadalupe for me and I'm interested in tying up some Cypert Minnows of my own.
New boat will be here around Feb 1st. Does anyone have any other websites or ideas to market my boat. Bought it to fish the THSBA with my son. Going to add more pictures today [/quote
I was just recently suckered into the whole Facebook thing, hate to admit it but the marketplace and the bass boat groups are great classifieds with a lot of traffic..
The allies dropped many of them with 'Ruperts'. It was a doll that looked like a British paratrooper. They'd toss them out of planes in the same formations as real paratroopers went out. They had a backpack that held a Liberty pistol, a candy bar, and a explosives or incendiary package. Kids would run and search all over to find them for the candy bars, and give the weapons to their Dad or big brother.
When the Germans mounted up and chased all over to fight the air borne 'invasions',,,,, and only found the Ruperts, they got so mad and piled them all up and burned them. Word is there is only 2 or 3 of them left in British museums.
It was a very good game and the crowd was really into it.
Out of all the major sports (baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc), MLS is the only sport where attendance is increasing rather than decreasing
I watched about the last 30 min of the game that crowd was rocking, that would have been pretty cool to be at. We went to several of the playoff and Championship games back when the Dynamo were really good back in the early to mid 2000's, those were a blast to go to.

Yes a video on making leaders would be great. Last time I went to PINS my bait kept getting chewed off, I was using 80lb blue label leader. Also which knot do you prefer for your shock leaders? Fg? Thanks.
