Found this small lake within 10 minutes from my house. Can anyone advise if there are Largemouth in Marine Creek?

There are lots of largemouth in that lake you can do a search here in the bass section and get lots of info.

I like a blue fleck power worm texas rigged on the dam or up on the north end around the laydowns you may also want to try it around any cattails. Good luck to you out there.

I appreciate the info. Fished from the bank this morning, near TCC and landed several 14-16 inchers on top-waters. Will bring out the boat this week. Where exactly is the dam?

It runs along the 820 service road on the very south end of the lake.

By the way welcome to the forum.

I walked down by the riprap and there were some guys fishin' for cats. When I'm out on Wednesday, I'll work the entire South end. Didn't see much vegetation.

Thanks for the welcome.

try a green pumpkin tube flipped up into the cattails also theres a sunken roadbed that crosses the lake crankbaits across it work for some big un's.The early morning bite is awsome out there topwaters and buzzbaits, get ready to have your arm broke there's some big fish in there just hard work to find them.

I'm wondering the same thing, JIM SR. I've been fishing out there for about 30 years. I've caught some nice ones here and there, but certainly no arm-breakers, and they (bigguns) are rare since the hydrilla was killed off. Heck, the lake record is just 10 pounds. I think, realistically, you have a good chance of catching decent numbers of 10-16 inch fish, but, if you want trophies, Oden, you'd be better off heading elsewhere.

I fished MC in the late 70's and off and on in the 80's and 90's just for the heck of it,...and as recent as 2-3 times this year just to get my boat wet,..and I have never caught anything of any species that weighed over 6 pounds,...my PB there for LMB was about 4lbs many a year ago,..and the biggest was a big ole very mad drum I caught while drifting the rip-rap for crappie.
I do see where there is a program coming up where fish are going to be put in MC,..hope that works. Also be very careful about where you park,..and never leave anything in your vehicle of value,...jim

I love MC for fishing for just a couple of hours. I do not think Ezeejigs is talking about drifting for crappie or drum or catfish. The bass seem to stay in the same areas and are easy to pattern. You can go out and catch 10-30 fish on smaller topwaters before the sun even gets up. As far as size goes, I do not know anyone who fishes there in tournaments, so I guess I do not seem to find the problem with catching alot of 12-16" fish.

When I lived in F.W. I used to use the lake as my testing grounds for new techniques. For a small body of water you could catch fish just about any way you wanted I.E. shallow or deep.

If you want to catch numbers & have a chance @ quality try Senko's @ the dam or any where shallow for that matter. For numbers try a shakey head finnese worm any where. For quality try deep cranks, jigs, swimbaits & c-rig's in the main channel bends & don't be afraid to fish in the 20' + zone.

Good luck

It's 250 acres. Caught a 6.5 lb bass there earlier this summer. Just got lucky I guess. Everything else I've caught has been small.

I have caught several 5-6 pounders over the years but they are far and few between. It was easier to catch the bigger fish when the hydrilla was all over the lake.
