I was wondering if anyone had some info on Chocolate Bayou/Bay. Was thinking about taking my Kayak down there sometime soon.
Thoughts? Experiences?
Thanks Much,
Will

I've caught lots of fish out of chocolate Bay over the years. I've never fished the bayou because it's mostly a mullet ditch. When the winds start kicking up you can hide in Chocolate Bay and catch "mostly" Reds and black drum. There are some great reefs to fish at the entrance to Lavaca Bay or head over to Kingfisher docks(deep water)in the cooler months to hammer the Reds. You can launch a kayak or small boat at the bayou launch(mud slope) or launch in the Harbor of Refuge and simply run around the corner into Chocolate Bay. Beware-follow channel markers or eat reef! If mullet are jumping in the boat you are running too shallow!!!Lol! Good luck! Take some cracked crab and catch some fish!
