Sorry if there's already something out there on this. I searched, but didn't see anything relevant.
I have a Lowrance with the blue transducer connector.
I just got a new MinnKota Riptide iPilot TM with the "channel" in the shaft. My old Power Drive didn't have it, so the cable was always banjo strung from the head to the motor. I'm running the cable down the channel now, but it's too thick to go easily through the steering ring on the TM. It makes it too hard to raise and lower the motor.
From what I've gathered through the power of google, the general consensus is, use a humminbird. Their cables are thinner because they aren't shielded as much.
I was hoping to stick with what I have, maybe just replacing the transducer, since I'll still be paying for the TM for another couple of months.
Are there any "Blue" Lowrance cables that are thinner? The "Mark" series cables are thinner, but they use the push-in small black connector, and I haven't seen a converter/adapter.

Two methods of running transducer cables on Minnkota Terrova and Riptide trolling motors:

One using the slot in the shaft which is useful for Humminbird, but Lowrance cables are to thick.

The other works for both Humminbird or Lowrance and that is to use a coiled air hose cut to the length needed. You can cut the hose if needed to insert the transducer cable inside the hose.

Hmm.. so you just split the air hose to put the cable inside and then electric tape every couple of coils to hold it closed... I like it. It's cheap and adds another layer of protection from pinching. Definitely worth trying.

Thanks LGZ!
