I got it from catfishhunter. The strength is great. As hard as I can pull, I can't get the reBar to budge. So I don't think there is any possible way the duct tape won't hold. Like I said. Probably stronger than hose clamps.

There are some bank fishing rod holder how to's on YouTube.
There are also some for rod storage in the garage. I spent $10 making one that holds 12 rods.

I made these guys in about 5 minutes today  i almost didnt post the picture since they look pink, but i swear its red duct tape!!! Mine are just like these, but I used the ORANGE duct tape from walmart....no clamps either and they are going strong for over a year now!

 made these at work 1 3/4 tubing welded to 1/8 inch rods

M at work but when i get home i post a pic of my rod holders. Used half inch reebar and welded the the rake tines off an old hay rake the part that is coiled. worked awsome .
