My friend Charlie and ii decided instead of going to Ray Roberts let go to Grapevine a 5 minute drive and my home lake so to speak.
We launched a Meadowmere park, I always try and put in were i think i will be fishing. Instead of running across the lake. We started flipping the buck brush in the boat ramp cove,,after making 1 lap around the cove we figured out that if you put your bait into the middle of the buck brush you would get bit.If not forget it. I was throwing a green pumpkin red Kinami and Charlie was using a weight Xmas tree senko wacky worm. So after boating around 9 bass from 8 inches to 19 we decided to see if the deeper fish would be active.

We went to the hump in Twin coves and set up shop,,Right off the bat charlie landed a nice 3 pound er also would have been a over, on a Carolina Rigged Red Shad craw. I boated several over with the largest around 6 on a carolina rigged french fry in june bug. When the rain stopped we went back to flipping and the bite had shut down. We started throwing wiggle warts and nailed several more fish before calling it a day.

All in all it was a nice day on the lake and the fish decided to join in.

Nice report !! With the cooler weather that shallow bite will get better.
