My dad wants to go on a fly fishing trip on the 28th -29th. He wanted to go to Broken Bow but it sounds like they are going to be running some water or something so we cant go there... (if i am wrong please correct me) frown

Is there somewhere we can drive to from Dallas thats under 4 hours away, and has some curious trout? eek

By that time the Blue River will have been stocked with factory fish; that's only 2 hours away and small olive woolly buggers work well. There's a catch-and-release only area up there and they stock it with some decent-sized fish.

The wading is not too difficult. Watch out for some deep holes though.

Ditto on the Blue. It is not only trout but some
fine warm water fishing as well.
Arkansas is another option depending on
the schedule etc.

My dad an i decided tha we will go to the Blue River and see what happens!

any other rivers that you think i should check out in the future let me know! i love experiencing new waters and learning there hidden secrets.

I have a question about the Little Mo'. If Swepco is generating, is that a good or bad thing for the fishing there? I know at Denison Dam if they aren't generating, you aren't probably catching fish. If they are pushing a lot of water through LOP spillway, you probably aren't catching fish.
