I'd like to buy another one also and I've had very good luck with mine but the new Gen 2 's cost so much more then the Mercury. However I really don't want a 4 stroke and those new Merc's are so ugly, has anyone owned one of these Merc yet and are they pleased with them?

My 1997 Evinrude is still running just as good as the day we bought it brand new. Replaced the VRO pump once and power pack once, but she got me home both times I had those issues. Couldn't have asked for a better motor. Two sub-$1k fixes in 21 years... Had a 225 Vindicator on the ole Stratos I sold a few years ago. Sold with around 850hrs. Only thing ever done to it was a rebuilt lower unit. Thanks Toledo Bend....... Those old OMC Evinrudes are tanks

Guess I better go buy a couple of EFI's that are rebuild worthy and stick them in the barn.... I'm not running a 4 stroke

Jody I used to think that way but those new Mercury 4 strokes seem to be the bomb, will out run the Mercury two strokes and have a lot more torque.
