Looks like panicum...Texas panicum or Fall panicum. My secondary guess would be Southwestern cupgrass. I strongly suspect Texas panicum but without seeing the base its hard to tell.
Distinguishing characteristic in your photo is that the seed stems come in pairs...that is, they break away from the main stem in pairs vs. alternating one on one side then one on the other a little higher up the stem...etc. (if that makes sense). Google Texas panicum and Fall panicum. Look at images and tell me what you think.
The good news is, regardless of which specific grassy weed it is...it appears the same product would be used to get rid of it.

 I just went outside between the rainstorms and took a picture of the top of the stem I believe that's Bahia Grass..... I do know it lays down flat when it hears a lawn mower, then stands back up after you get thru mowing.
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.
