I have the same boat in a 2005 and mine has been upgraded to 36v and i got the 52" 112 ultrex. Lets just say you never have to worry about the wind anymore. I don't until waves start coming over the noise about every wave. lol. Its changing spots against the wind that makes difference like going in and out of boat docks. As far a boat top end, it may cost me a mile or two per hour but i never go full out anyhow.
Highly recommend the 52" shaft. Much needed in higher winds but your boat cover may not fit as good.

Add the extra battery its worth the extra power & longevity No brainer.

Add the extra battery its worth the extra power & longevity +1 It's more about longevity of the power than the extra thrust for me. A 36V system will run about 75% longer on a charge than a 24V.

I will say this. You will use a lot more battery with the Ultrex than you did with your Fortrex. I had never ran down my 36V Fortrex but have my Ultrex and I know why. Its because I fish in the wind a lot more than I use to with the Fortrex. I will sit in the wind with waves crashing over the bow all day long and fish from the back of the boat while the Ultrex works and keeps me in one spot.
