It depends on what you are looking for. If you are car camping, look at Kodiak Canvas flexbow tents. Season it by setting it up in the yard, spraying it down real good with the hose. I wish I had bought one a long time ago, as it will last a lifetime. Not like most of the throw away [censored] they make nowadays. It does weigh about 70lbs though, so you don't want to carry it far.

If you're looking for smaller tents, get on eBay and look for MSR, mountain hardware to name a few. You can get a decent deal on a used one. I have a mountain hardware hammerhead 3 that will double as a Jon boat.

I've got a Kelty Gunnison and a North Face Roadrunner 22. Not a lot of difference in the two but prefer the North Face.

My vote is also for the Kodiak. I like the vertical walls and the height where you can stand almost everywhere in it. 10x10 was the perfect size for me. Look at the testimonials on the water issue.

Cabelas alaskan guide

Floor will get damp with heavy rains, but I sleep on a cot. Been in some heavy downpours without issue.

Sounds like you already have plenty of suggestions for tents so I'll skip that part.

But one thing I do is keep all of my clothes and stuff in a plastic tote box inside the tent. That way if water does get in for any reason, everything stays dry. And we sleep on one of those tall air mattresses so our bedding never gets wet.

One other piece of advice that may be obvious but just in case... always zip your tent door up to the top. There will never be a good waterproof seal where the two zipper things meet. This helps with water getting in and also with bugs crawling in.
