I broke down and purchased an 8 ft evafoam handled Pro Angler Rod on Monday afternoon and it arrived today (Wednesday).

Today is the first time I have seen one of the rods in person. I am impressed. I placed a low profile Ambassadeur S3000C with cushioned thumb bar on the reel. Balances out nicely from what I can tell. Will see what happens after fishing it for several hours straight. I admit I was excited, anxious and nervous to see what arrived after making the purchase. The question popped into my mind, would I like it as much as other people liked it? As you can tell that question was answered in the affirmative.

Prior to purchase I went back and forth, back on forth on various rod models without pulling the trigger. Frustrating. I'd drive to Cabelas and Academy to check out the long rods and I always failed to bite the bullet at the last minute. Some rods were too stiff to my liking and others felt too light.

I'm very happy with the quick service. From what I can tell I am very happy with the product in terms of value, construction, and balance. Best $42.00 + a few dollars shipping that I've spent in quite some time on fishing tackle.

I am happy to be off that insane merry go round of frustration.

Jeff

Just wait till you get a slab on it, then you really fall in love!

+1 thumb I've had 4 of the EVA foam PA's, 2 @ 10' and 2 @ 9' and LOVED every one! I've given 1 10'er & 1 9'er to a relative and traded the other 9'er for an 8' cork PA. Not to diminish your enthusiasm but, you'll wish you'd paid the extra $3 and gotten the cork, just for the weight & balance. I have 2 8'er's now and can easily fish one in each hand for hours without fatigue. I almost can't tell there's a rod in my hand.....until the THUMP and it loads up with a slab!!

Agree with Pepop. I have an 8 and a 10 eva and freaking love them. I've been fishing mine with spinning reels but may have to try the baitcaster.

Now Pepop you can't do nothing but sit on the couch for hours without getting fatigued. Remember I been in the boat with ya.

Suppose you go goin to battle the wind tomorrow.

I was just about to ask the difference in cork and EVA. So the weight is the biggest factor?

weight, hm, maybe, I wouldnt know. All I use are cork rods, not a big fan of the foam. Guess its a preferance from my bassin days

Cork is lighter and slightly more sensitive IMO. All mine are cork handles. Balance is great on an 8fter.
