You guys forgot, "what if you forget your key and have to start late" or "what if you blow your engine and have to borrow the TD's boat".
Not even a little riled by you guys! You did it right, weighed in and was finished for the day. I'm Ok with that. I just wish I could get a big limit like that by 9AM! I would put in my earplugs and take a nap. Then go eat.
Retirement best job ever.

I can't believe I just wasted my time reading this.
But since so many of you have such awesome ideas for new rules on tournament fishing, y'all should get together and start your own trail. I'm sure it will be a huge success.
In the meantime, we, who believe there is only so much you can do to keep a fish alive on the water, will continue to fish the tournaments that offer us the option to weigh in a fish early to prevent damage/death to it. No matter the anglers intent on weighing early, his actions still give that fish a higher chance of survival under the care of the tournament staff.
And I'm sure that people always wake up before their tournament and think, "Hey, I'm just gonna fish real close to the ramp because I will probably gut hook several fish today. That way, I have an unfair advantage over the guys who ran all the way down the lake."
Let's get real.
