I do. There are a lot of people that do. Go to the "General Equipment" forum. At the top of the page there is a sub-forum "Building Baits and Pouring Plastics". It is not visited that much anymore but there is a lot of old info on there from when they first started that sub-forum.

Be sure to check out tackleunderground.com and bearsbaits.com Anything you want to know about pouring, you can find at these two sites. BEWARE: The tackle making monkey is way worse than the bait monkey!

I made 12 inch power worms, before they came out. Made a super speed craw before they came out. Made a mag fluke before they came out. I was wondering for a sec if there were bait spies in my garage. Got about 20 molds i made and pour veryseldom any more mainy when i need something i cant buy. I even made some gigantic worms, 14, 16,18, and the grandaddy at 22 inches. Caught a 3 lb fish with the 22 incher at night had three rattles in it he must of thought it was a rattle snake and chompped it.
Making your own is a slippery slope. Most people either give up right away or find out that you will be spending a bunch of time and money in your new hobby. Your best bet is to find someone who pours and will let you do some pouring to see if you are going to like it.
Here is the quickest way to " try it" without getting overboard. 1. Get a small cheap pan say 1inch deep. Like a small cornbread pan 2. Glue a bait you like to fish to the bottom of pan with super glue. For pan reuse i line it with mask tape first then glue it 3. Get box of plaster of paris. Mix and pour. 4. Let dry. 5. Get spray can of high temp engine paint any color. 6. Pull mold out of pan dust out cavity. 7. Spray cavtity with multi coats 8. Let dry 9. Microwave some old plastics in a microwavable measuring cup in 1 to 2 min increments stirring in between. 10. Pour let cool.
If you live close to Burleson shoot me a pm. I'll hook you up with a small amount of product I have and show you how I made my own molds. The first few proto types I made were with teflon and poured right in um.
I pour most of my own plastics. I got all of my stuff from bearsbaits.com and have been please with their products. I purchased the starter kit and have added a few more molds and colors.

Jordan, if you don't want to spend any money to find out if pouring is for you, give me a call. I've got EVERYTHING you need to pour with. I'm not pouring anymore, so your welcome to use all my stuff for free. If you find that you like it, I'll sell it to you dirt cheap. If not, just return what you didn't use. Good luck,John
Bank beater, did you just melt down other berkley powerbait to make the 12 inch worms? Was thinking of doing that to make a color they don't produce anymore in the 10 inch.

Yeahyou need a serious mask and good ventilation for all of it but especially if remeltin berkley. Man that stuff will prob kill you. I always did mine n garage with a 3 ft tall fan going an a mask.
So fyi tonew pouring people one small test inside and you will be ok i wouldn't reccomend much inside fumes are rough.
For sure on the exhaust. I took at 120 volt blower out of a old gas furnace and run it at my melt down table. To much of the stuff will sure make you sick!!! And I can't imagine the smell off melting berkley!!!
