I was visiting some of my wife's family in Florida this last week before we went to Disney. Her sisters new boyfriend introduced himself as retired army with 21 years in service. Something about this guy never added up to me. He claimed a bunch of crazy stuff. He also said he was an Ohio State grad. After I got home I checked him put using some very simple Internet searches. This guy had never gone to OSU, only seved 4 years in the army and had been divorced twice and was running from child support for three different kids. I broke the news to my wife and of course she told her sister. What a bum! Of course my wife's sister is pissed....at me for looking into something that was not any of my business. After she asked him about it he admitted tat it was all lies and wondered how she knew. I wonder if he will be in Texas in the near future to say hello?

You did Good, you were just looking out for a family member, and who knows "What" you didnt find.

Sad that she got mad at you but it happens. At least now she knows and can make decisions better about who she's associating with.

I hate to pry into other people's biz but he just kept throwing unbelievable stuff into my face. I think I hate liars about as much as I hate thieves. Especially when it comes to military service. I never seved but respect those who have to much to watch this guy try and get away with it.

What tipped you off? Did he mention his Civil War flashbacks?

As a Medal of Honor recipient with 5 Purple Hearts (mostly from my heroics as Seal Team member as well as Green Beret)& I certainly applaud your efforts, while earning my doctorate from Harvard I larnt there is plenty of fakers out there.

What tipped me off? There were red flags from the start. He said he was special forces and spent all of his time Germany. My home office is in Germany. He did not know where the cities were I mentioned, he also could not speak any German. When we went to dinner he sat with his back to the door. He had no idea or concern who was around him, totally unaware. Every special forces or anyone with any notion of self preservation is always aware of his surroundings. This guy was just to relaxed while he shot off his mouth. Most people who have real experiences keeps them to themselves and shares them only with a select few. Also, his house was cluttered. And the final kicker was when we were at a get together and we met an old biker who had served in Vietnam and wore the scars to prove it (missing arm) he tried to pull his stunt the guy blew him off and went outside. Many many red flags. Plus, he was just a total DB.

The better question is how did you gain all of this ino online?

Don't worry bout the sister either. She is just mad at the situation and herself and is taking it out on you. She will come to her senses.... what senses she does have anyway. I mean she is a woman... (that does not include you CA, AO, TXBlonde, Katelyn, Lakelass, and the any other wimmenz of the OT I am missing. You are all of a special breed)

This reminds me of "Last Guy Standing" the other week. Does anyone watch that show? Tim Allen's character did just this to some DB trying to be a tough guy lying about being a navy seal. Was frickin hilarious.
