Calcasieu is a definite option. If I was only interested in inshore I would go to Calcasieu. Closer. Still great fishing. Lots of good guides. I would recommend Big Lake Guide Service.

If you really want to get the most fun out of a redfish, call Captain Scott Null in Galveston. Site casting to reds in only inches of water is the best way to do it. It beats the hell out of blind casting to grass lines.

This ^^^
Or there are lots of places to wade or pier fish for reds down there if you ask around. If they've repaired the Cameron Jetty Pier you can catch reds there or off the jetties themselves.

Do not overlook Grand Isle LA. There is great red fishing there and we have never failed to limit, and I mean never. There is also a nice fishing bridge as you come on the island you can fish from and often there are nice bull reds and other stuff there. And Bridgeside Marina, Buggy and Bozo, are great guys who can set you up with a good guide. Check the link below for a story on my blog. So no matter where you go have a great trip!
If you go to Venice Capt Shane Mayfield or Capt Bobby Warren. PM me if you need phone #'s. If you choose Calcasieu, Big Lake Guide service is the way to go. Try to get Jeff Poe if you can, great guide.
