I fished Friday with Matt Ray and his friend Mark, from El Campo area, on Fayette County lake. Wind kind of got high at times, otherwise a nice day on the water. They ended the day with 21 nice cats up to 9#.
Fish caught under cork in 7-10 feet, using CJ's shad punch bait.

On Saturday we changed the trip date due to 33 degrees and 15 mph winds, and we were going to have an 11year old grand daughter on board, so we will do that next month.
Today I had Rex Herrington and his son Dale from College Station, out for their first trip ever on Fayette County. We started at 8am to beat some of the cold, it was 30 degrees with 12mph winds to start with. After 30 minutes and no bites at the first place my fingers were hurting to the bone. We moved and I put a hand warmer in my mitten and thawed the fingers by the time we crossed the lake. Here we fished some 12 foot water and managed 14 while missing several due to such short bites.
We then crossed the lake again and found some 8 foot water with some fish. Here we picked up another 15 nice cats going up to 8.5#. Ended the day with 29 averaging about 5# per fish.
All caught under cork using CJ's Crawdad punch bait.
