I have a 2001 champion 193. I'm trying to get to the front base plate underneath the deck because 4 out of the 6 T-nuts are either stripped of loose. I need to get under the deck so that I can replace the t-nuts with normal lock nuts.
Any and all suggestions, help, and/or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jeffrey

enlarge the switchpanel hole ..
get a kid with small arm to put the washer/nut on (glue them together)
then place your switchpanel on a larger piece of black plastic.
cover the enlarged hole

I'm not positive we're talking about the same issue. I'm trying to put the bolts & nuts in for the front base plate that is for my butt seat. If we are talking about the same thing I'll try to take a look at it soon & let you know what I find out.
Thanks for the help guys.

Buy a deck plate, 4 or 6 or 8 inch. Cut a hole in the deck, Do your repairs on the base plate. Cover hole with deck plate....

Its ok baylor thanks for your input though.
Mike I'm trying to stay away from doing anything to the deck. I found a previous cut hole in the storage box (between the two rod boxes). I re-cut the hole only to find foam...everywhere. I'm thinking about now trying to get the foam out so I can get underneath the base plate.
Anymore suggestions?
Thanks guys for your help!

I'm still on with the deck plate thing. I'm not too much into removing foam. Mostly because it ends up being a bigger removal than what you expected. Plus the tiny bits of foam ends up finding it's way to the bilge pump and plugging that up.

Can you lay in the rod or storage box and get to it? On mine there is a portion towards the front thats open. Its about even with the base. You may want to check and see if yours is the same. You might have to get a kid to get in there.
