Just got back from 3 days on Fork. I fished the little Caney Creek area out of Hideaway Harbor, managed to catch a total of 17 LMB, all 2 1/2 - 4 LBS except for 1 dink and a nice Channel Cat that I gave to a retired fireman for his dinner. The weather and wind was different every day which I think slowed things down a bit. Most of my fish came off the edge of the creek in 12' dropping off to 20'. Water temp 51-54 deg and a little murky near Hideaway Harbor and muddy as you head up the creek. All in all I had a fun trip and, there was no crowd, ready to go back in March and chase the fat girls heading up the creek.

My brother and I canceled our trip to fork for the morning. The cold is one thing, the 20 mph winds... that's a whole other beast. March should be a total blast.

That's an AWSOME area, I'm still crossing my fingers on a trip down there.

So....question....this is my first year without a bass boat in about 20 years but I do have a brand spankin new Coosa.

Do you guys launch at ramps on Fork or do you hit the bridges and side roads to launch? I've always seen old road beds by bridges that look pretty easy to drop a yak. Just curious.

I've been online looking at maps and see alot of dead end type FM roads. I'd really like to find something near Glade.

I'm sure I'll see some of you guys out there in the coming weeks.

I've only been once in the Yak and used a private ramp at Hideaway Harbor. I think there would be some easy places to drop in near good fishing but I'm not sure how secure your vehicle will bw while you're out fishing. I'll be trying to find some places as well and will post anything I find.
