Right now is the time to catch Big Bass with less effort. It's called the pre spawn.
They are easier to catch before they get on the beds. To find them look for deep creeks that run near sandy or hard bank points. Some of my best spots over the years have been deep creek with eight to ten ft of water on the point side with good brush then five feet jump to the point. The big sows will be hanging in the mid break eating gizzard shad. Baits of choice...Big Crank Bait coach dog color Black back chartruese sides and orange belly reeled as fast as you can reel it in the mid depth. On other days a jig and pig will do the trick. Sometimes both work the same day. Crank Bait when they are running those big shad and jig when they settle down into the brush. I have caught literally hundreds of big bass doing this in February and even into march.
