Software release for Generation 1 HDS® version 4.1
Lowrance has released a new version of software for the first generation of HDS multifunction displays (not HDS Gen2). This new software version (HDS 4.1) includes changes to sonar performance, charting enhancements and more.

Items addressed with this new release include:

1) Sonar Performance – Improvements include better bottom tracking at high speeds; enhanced deep-water depth tracking (greater than 1,000 feet); and shortened lock-on time for trolling-motor-mounted transducers

2) Charting Enhancements – Quick-access mapping selection is now available with Lowrance/Navionics chart toggle under Chart Options, as well as the soft-keys featured on HDS-8 and HDS-10. Also, users can now display Point Of Interest information supplied by the Navionics User Community.

3) Fixes – Updates include distance measurement between vessel and active cursor as vessel moves; altitude overlay for altitudes greater than 9,999 feet; and EP-60R fuel-flow sensor corrections.

Nice. Installed it on my HDS-7 Gen1.

Hopefully the fix for the HDS Gen2 reboot problem is not far behind.

Yes, on the Gen2 its going threw the validation team now. Don't have a ETA when it will be publicly release.

I updated both of my HD10'S with the last software update and now one of them takes about ten min to turn on.
Anybody out there have the same problem?

I updated a 7 and it turns on fine. I don't see any difference in high speed running though, in fact I'd almost swear it didn't keep bottom as well. Diff lake than the first time so it might have been the softer bottom didn't return the signals as well?

I took mine out yesterday for the first time after teh update and it would not power up correctly. I could not turn it off except by turning off the power switch on the boat. When I powered it up again it came on as usual but during the day it would quite often loose bottom contact even when moving with the TM. Does anyone know if I can reload the previous version. I think this version has a bug.
