Anybody got any tips or tactics for clearing a big log jam on the river? I am going back this weekend, got a spot I can get through and it's necessary that i do, can't even jump the flat bottom over it. I'm taking a trailer winch, a come-along, a snatch block, rope, chain, chainsaw, loppers, axe, tow straps, and waders. Think thats all I'll take, maybe a beer or 6. Wonder if any if you guys have ever had any related experiences.

Only thing i can think of more is some scuba gear and a under water chainsaw. Good luck! let us know how it goes.

Well, I welded up a bracket that latches on a tree with chains, attached a trailer winch to it, got up the river and everything worked perfectly. Was able to jerk that big log parallel to the bank with the winch, then tied onto it and drug it out of the way. Got all the stuff behind it cleared out, only to take off back up river and look back and my dang water pump had quit on my. It was a long troll back to the boat ramp.
