I just picked up 2 A-Rigs from Academy for $15 each. Definitely better than the $25 I have been seeing. I am headed down to the coast this weekend, and wanted to know what ya'll thought about them for reds and trout? I figured a trout would slam it, especially now. What do you think?

U would think it would work for trout but they see pretty good and seem to spook easily. Let us know how it goes.

We've been using them for stripers (schoolies 5 to 10 lbs) and having very good results with them. Were using the frenzy by castlebaits at 14.99 each

I think there will be couple of challenges for that style rig in saltwater. Mainly throwing a couple oz rig in shallow water and retrieve speed necessary to keep the rig off the bottom. I'm hoping to try one this coming summer in the deeper water round the jetty. The rig should replicate small group of shad or finger mullet. The first jack to take a bite will likely tear it up though.

We've been using the Swarmbella 3 wire with the Berkley
Ripple Shad or Ripple Mullet with good results.

really interested in how your weekend went. I picked up several of the A-rigs for the boys to take down to Rockport for Spring Break. I figure running it through some of the guts and along the edge of the ICW should produce some fish.
