looks dangerous, I think I need to know where you caught it so I could make sure not another one of those exists.

That's how we would locate them on Alan Henry when I lived in Lubbock...they'd go after bass lures like crazy. I had a buddy that got 3 in one day flipping. Another guy I know got one to eat a 6 inch swimbait...fish was released but well over 2 pounds.

found them spawning on Benbrook one day, in a similar fashiong.. flipping a Beaver in bushes by the Marina.. and kept missing the short violent strikes... I finally let the fish eat the bait long enough to set the hook and fling the crappie over the boat on the hookset... bass rod instantly went up, and I slayed crappie for two days straight!!! took the wife back the second day and we parked the boat and waded around with long jig poles and dabbled the bushes! what a fun and memorable trip! big crappie, like 12-14" each! I miss crappie fishing badly!

That sounds awesome! I know of a few places like that I'm going to visit in the next month.

Last year I had a buddy come by the house. He had a limit of Big Crappie that he had caught on a 3" Ultra Vibe Speed Craw with a small weight.

It works both ways, I caught some big bass on 2" curly tail grubs while crappie fishing before too.

That's a really nice crappie though!!!!
