Those are always fun to weigh in a tournament with too. I had a 6.82 Smallmouth made in to a replica from Texoma. Johnson Taxidermy out of Durant did mine and he did an excellent job. Highly recommend him.

Fantastic catch sir!!
Texoma seldom gets talked about as a smallmouth lake. But, there are a ton of them in there. Just another reason why I love the Big Lake so much.

Johnson Taxidermy If you click on the tab labeled "The Taxidermist", the picture that comes up is one of my brother's deer that Jarrod did for him. If you are close to Durant, stop in to Roadhouse Bar and Grill in downtown Durant and ask Adam to show you Jarrod's work. Adam is my brother and owns the restaurant and Jarrod has done all of the work that he has in the place. Adam will be back in the restaurant on Thursday I think...went to Vegas for a few days. If you do, tell him that Jed sent you in and that I'm going to buy you a beer.

seriously...stop in there sometime after Wednesday (thursday or friday around 1:30 or 2 when it is not busy so he will have some time to introduce himself and show you around) and ask for Adam. Tell him that I sent you in to check out Jarrod's work and that I am buying you a beer. If you go Friday, it is pulled pork sandwich day...if they still have any by the time you get there, you gotta get one...they are awesome, and ask for the Afterburner sauce. That is one of my BBQ sauces and it is great if you like it hot! Anyway, hope you can make it up there, its a great place with great food, great owners, and great taxidermy! Check out the moose while you are there. My wife's grandfather shot it and just last year decided to donate it to the restaurant...it was the Alaska state record in 1982 @ just over 2000 lbs!
Enjoy!

I will definitely stop by. It may not be this week but I will get in there soon. My wife is from Calera so we are up there all the time. I'm assuming this is the same Roadhouse that is on the old highway going into Durant. I went there a couple of times in the mid 90's when it was just a bar. I haven't been back that way in quite a while.

Same owner(s), it is downtown now. The state bought the land it used to be on to build the highway bypass. If you go into town and head east on main, turn left on 1st street and the parking lot is right around the corner across from the new fire station.

Was talking to my wife about going there and she informed me that it had moved as well. I will make a point to stop in next time I'm up there.
