Good stuff guys, I have been using the Berkley Big game 15lb or 17lb stuff, and it has worked well for me. I use a IM10 All star rod MH with the 3/4oz and 1oz heads. I can feel lots of bites, I think I miss more that my share though smile Haven't tried any of the braid or other lines. Its just what I am used to using. Enjoy reading other folks suggestions.

Try this Bryon. When you set hook, extend your arm and keep the rod tip way up, then as fast as you can crank the reel. I noticed several buddies and even myself, after we set hook we quickly lower the rod tip AND then start reeling.

I am thinking because the fluke is above the fish, the fish swim up to bite and continue going up so dont slack your lines or the fish will have enough time to spit out the fluke. Ok ok, Matt reminded us that on the last trip grin

I had on powerPro 30# (diameter 8 lb), the rest had on mono #15 or #20 I think and we all caught fish pretty evenly.
